These emails are being sent because Matt wants to represent the citizens of Carlsbad and this helps him to understand what you think of the critical issues.

The last issue we asked about was:

The City Council recently approved the greens fees for our new municipal golf course, The Crossings at Carlsbad. In setting the fees, we decided that the golf course must be run as a business, and that it is not fair to all of Carlsbad's citizens to ask them to subsidize greens fees for Carlsbad golfers. Rather, the fees should be set by the marketplace, with a view that the course and facilities be a revenue generator. KemperSports, the company that the City hired to manage the golf course, proposed, after analyzing the competition and quality and amenities presented at the course, that the appropriate greens fee for Carlsbad residents is $60 for play on Monday through Thursday, $65 on Fridays, and $80 on weekends and holidays. The fees charged to golfers who live in the remainder of San Diego County will be $75 for play on Monday through Thursday, $80 on Fridays, and $95 on the weekends and holidays. For golfers living outside of the County, the fees will be $90 for play Monday through Thursday, $95 on Fridays, and $110 on the weekends and holidays. These rates are less than what are now charged at other comparable courses in the County. Do you agree or disagree with the Council's decision on the fees for The Crossings at Carlsbad?
