Matt Hall for City Hall

Truly a product of the North County, Matt was born in Vista in 1948 and moved to Carlsbad in 1970. He served in the Army from 1968 to 1970 including a tour in Vietnam.

Matt opened a business in the Village in 1970 and has always been supportive of efforts to enhance that area. In fact, he served on the original redevelopment committee and has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for nearly 35 years.

Matt and his wife Phyllis have three grown daughters. While his daughters were growing up he was a Lightning Soccer coach for eight years. Phyllis also has long and strong ties to Carlsbad. Back in the day, she was the owner of both Dons Country Kitchen and Mariahs (named after her daughter). Currently, Phyllis is Community Outreach Liason for NCTD.
