Carlsbad has a business climate "that I believe is just about to explode," Mayor Matt Hall said Friday as he gave his first State of the City address.
And the best way to set off the spark is for city leaders to be accessible, cooperative and innovative, he told the crowd of some 500 people at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa.
Throughout his address and an accompanying video, the new mayor stressed cooperation and collaboration. The former city councilman was elected to the mayor's spot last fall, replacing longtime Mayor Bud Lewis.
